Author / Artist: Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin (1870–1935). A scarce and particularly charmingEdwardian children’s book, issued in 1902 and illustrated by the much-loved animal artistCecil Aldin. The plates here are especially appealing, with the canine subjects and family atmosphere giving the book much of its enduring charm.
The first year in the very new place leaves strong impressions on both children, affecting them for life. This novel is considered Cather’s first masterpiece.
