THE TRAGEDY OF Z Published in 1933 (?) by Avon Publications, Inc. (#726). Written by Ellery Queen (originally published under the pseudonym Barnaby Ross). The third novel in the Drury Lane series. Drury Lane was a Shakespearean actor who retired from the stage due to deafness & was often consulted as an amateur detective. 160 pages. Original retail was 25 cents. From a solicitation description: “Murder mystery fiction: Senator Joel Fawcett lies dead with a thin paperknife in his chest. There would be a national scandal and hundreds of suspects. Impossible to solve? But of course Drury Lane was assisted in finding a lead by Patty, a wandering blonde with melting blue eyes.” Condition is Very Good. Complete with no writing, no tape, no folds.
